This FREE event has been made possible thanks to the support of the Marion Park Lewis Foundation, which helps organizations like the Barns provide arts education opportunities to residents of the northern Shenandoah Valley.
About: In 2021, the Barns of Rose Hill presented at an outdoor concert to celebrate our tenth anniversary. This year, we’re excited to host yet another outdoor concert as our gift to the community. Featuring live music by the Silver Tones Swing Band, food and beverage vendors, and children’s activities, this joyous event is the perfect way to spend your summer break! Bring a camp chair or a picnic blanket and join us for a celebration of the arts.
Location: The concert will be held in the grassy amphitheater area between the Barns of Rose Hill (95 Chalmers Ct) and the Berryville-Clarke County Government Center (101 Chalmers Ct). Public parking is available at the Government Center or the Municipal Parking Lot across Rose Hill Park. The Barns of Rose Hill will be open for the duration of the event, including the Lower Gallery and the recently renovated Visitors Center. Take a break from the heat to see “Solstice,” the ShenArts Members Exhibition, and collect brochures and information for the best sites in and around Clarke County.
About the Band: The Silver Tones Swing Band is one of the DC area's most popular musical acts, and this high-energy swing band is sure to get your toes tappin' in no time. The Silver Tones are proud to bring to the stage the Silver Belles vocal trio, who recreate the exciting music of the Andrews Sisters from the 1940s era and delight the crowd with their rich three-part harmonies. Solo vocalists Wendy Marie and Aaron Talley bring to life the music of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Natalie Cole, Bobby Darin, and other big band greats. The Silver Tones’ show also includes music from the 1950s, 60s, and 70s by artists like Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Etta James, Elvis, Bette Midler, and others. See you on the dance-floor!
More Entertainment: Paula Roberts of Dip Into Art will offer face painting and temporary tattoos for children and adults. Visit our kids’ craft corner and get creative with a variety of art supplies and coloring pages.
