About: Cellist Julian Schwarz and pianist Marika Bournaki met as students at the Aspen Music Festival in 2006. Over the subsequent years, they reconnected at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland and as students at the Julliard School in New York City, where they each earned MM degrees in performance. The musically compatible duo began to collaborate professionally in 2014 and were married in the summer of 2020.
Marika Bournaki is a Canadian pianist from Montreal, QC. She has toured internationally as a soloist and recitalist, and was the subject of the award-winning documentary “I am Not a Rockstar”, chronicling her development from age 12 to 20.
Julian Schwarz is an American cellist from Seattle, WA. He is an international soloist, an active contributor to Strings Magazine’s Artist Blog, and is currently Asst. Professor of Cello at the Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester VA.
Date & Time: Friday, October 27, 2023. Doors open at 6:00 PM and the concert starts at 7:00 PM.
Ticket Price: All tickets are general admission. $25 in advance until 3:00 PM on the day of the event. $30 at the door. Children 12 years and below are free when accompanied by an adult.
