About the Program: Join us for one last look at Janelle Washington’s series: Quiet Terrors, Quiet Joys.
This poignant exhibition delves into the complex and often misunderstood realm of mental health. Inspired by the invisible yet pervasive nature of mental health issues, Washington created an anonymous survey to gather first-hand insights from individuals.
Using the information from the survey, she translated the participant's emotions into visual representations of an insect or small animal. The chosen creatures serve as powerful metaphors, embodying the emotions and struggles of the participant's unique daily experiences.
Take this opportunity to peruse the exhibition, meet the artist, and learn about the artwork before it closes. Complimentary drinks and snacks will be served. After the reception, join us for a screening of the biographical film, Till. Screening Details »
