About: Transatlantic folk duo, The Foreign Landers, are no foreigners to music. Originally from South Carolina, mandolinist David Benedict toured with noted bluegrass musicians, Missy Raines and Mile Twelve, before meeting Tabitha Agnew, a five-string banjo player from Northern Ireland. Tabitha had likewise performed abroad with international bands like Cup O’Joe and Midnight Skyracer. Following a chance encounter at the 2017 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Convention in Raleigh, NC, the pair found themselves drawn to one another. Upon realizing that they shared many commonalities, in spite of hailing from distant places, the two combined forces musically and romantically, and wed in 2019.

As a couple, Tabitha and David have begun to carve their own path in the acoustic music world together. Their authenticity and originality in songwriting, tasteful multi-instrumental prowess, evocative vocals, and unique transatlantic touch all combine to create something inexpressibly foreign and yet strangely familiar.

Named after their shared home studio in Travelers Rest, SC, The Foreign Landers’ debut full-length album Travelers Rest showcases the duo’s range, incorporating progressive bluegrass, sensitive Americana flavor, Celtic instrumental medleys, and roots throughout. As noted by The Bluegrass Standard, the duo is truly a “match made in heaven.”

Ticket Price: All tickets are general admission. $20 in advance until 3:00 PM on the day of event. $25 at the door. Children 12 years and below are free when accompanied by an adult.
