Loretta Allison was born and reared in Berryville. Having worked for the Federal Government for over thirty years, she returned home.

In 2008 while walking her beloved German shepherd one day on First Street, she discovered Opus Oaks, where she learned how to paint under the guidance of Gale Harlow.

As a lover of nature, the subjects of most of Loretta’s paintings are flowers, butterflies, trees, etc. They are usually quite colorful and appealing. In addition she loves people and she has painted over a dozen portraits.
