Hubby Jenkins WITH SPECIAL GUESTS The Down Hill Strugglers
May 26 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Some of the best traditional American music, blues, gospel and hillbilly, was recorded on commercial 78 rpm records during the 1920s & 30s. Hubby Jenkins and The Down Hill Strugglers keep that music alive with new interpretations.
Hubby Jenkins is a talented multi-instrumentalist, guitar, banjo and bones, who endeavors to share his love and knowledge of old-time American music. He was an integral part of the Grammy award winning Carolina Chocolate Drops from 2010 to 2014. Since 2015 to 2018 he was active in touring and a recording member in the Rhiannon Giddens band.
The Down Hill Strugglers are old-time string band based simultaneously out of Kentucky and New York, they have released albums on Smithsonian Folkways Recordings and Jalopy Records and are featured on the soundtrack to the Coen Brothers film, “Inside Llewyn Davis” produced by T-Bone Burnett.
