Alexandra N. Sherman Exhibit
June 2 @ 3:00 PM - July 25 @ 3:00 PM
Alexandra N. Sherman grew up at the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains in Upperville, Virginia. She also spent a portion of her childhood living in London and traveling across Europe with her family. Much of the art and architecture that she was exposed to while traveling through the continent became the basis for her love of art, especially Victorian paintings and medieval manuscript illuminations.
Alexandra wears many hats; she was the curator of the Dadian Gallery in Washington, DC, and has worked in frame ateliers. She has taught experimental and experiential watercolor classes in many different settings. She spent 2015 living in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she was an Artist-in-Residence and exhibited her work. In 2016 she returned to the DC area and continues to paint and show her work. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums, and can be found in private collections.
