  • Barns of Rose Hill 95 Chalmers Court Berryville, VA, 22611 United States (map)

This show is part of our Bluegrass & BBQ Concert Series! BBQ from Jordan Springs Market will be available for purchase prior to the show.

About: Mile Twelve, a progressive bluegrass band from Boston, MA, is looking forward, simultaneously shoring up their roots while also pushing musical boundaries and driving into new territory. Having earned the IBMA’s 2019 Album of the Year nomination and 2020 New Artist of the Year Award, the group has garnered an international reputation as one of the most dynamic groups in contemporary acoustic music.

On their newest album,Close Enough to Hear, Mile Twelve adds dimension with new members Ella Jordan (fiddler, vocalist) and Korey Brodsky (mandolinist), who successfully lock in with founding members Evan Murphy (guitar, vocals), Catherine Bowness (banjo), and Nate Sabat (bass, vocals) to form a coherent unit.

With underlying flavors of jazz, acoustic pop, and trance music, Close Enough to Hear displays the vast potential of acoustic string band music in the hands of capable players. In spite of the challenges they faced through the pandemic, the band decided to stand back up and keep going, quietly delivering what very well may be their best album yet.
