About: Named after an ancient Celtic harvest festival honoring the Irish god Lugh, Lúnasa was formed in 1997 by members of some of the most iconic Irish groups of the previous decade. With their intricate arrangements and innovative sound, the band redefined traditional Irish music, captivating audiences worldwide. Critics have praised their artistry, with The Irish Echo calling them “the hottest Irish acoustic band on the planet,” and MOJO dubbing them "the new gods of Irish music," noting their "thrilling rhythmic underlay." Billboard declared, “anybody who listens can’t help but find them contagious.”
Having sold over a quarter of a million records and performed more than 2,500 shows across 36 countries, Lúnasa has become one of the most influential bands in traditional Irish music history.
