Sharing Music and Song with Irish Roots

  • Barns of Rose Hill 95 Chalmers Court Berryville, VA, 22611 United States (map)

This show is part of our 2024 Celtic Music Series!

About: Master Irish Fiddler Brendan Mulvihill, visiting from Ireland, is honored and pleased to take the stage with three talented and experienced musicians for an evening of world-class Irish traditional tunes and old time music and song.

The Martin Sisters of Boyds, Maryland—Lydia (banjo, guitar, piano) and Emily (mandolin, tenor banjo)—bring a variety of traditional Irish and old-time repertoire to the stage. They have performed across the Atlantic and the United States, also teaching workshops and playing for dances.

Seamus Wade was recognized for his talent and passion from an early age in the Irish traditional music circles in the greater Washington D.C. Metro Area, as he joined in ceilis and sessions along with his father, Jim Wade; for years, demonstrating great talent, skill, knowledge and genuine interest and respect for traditional music. His repertoire, fluent easy style, and high skill reflect the influence of his teachers Liz Carroll, Martin Hayes, Patrick Ourceau, Willie Kelly, and Brendan Mulvihill, and his study of older recordings.
