About: Dubbed the area’s premier acoustic band, Furnace Mountain consists of Aimee Curl on bass and vocals, Dave Van Deventer on fiddle and vocals, and Morgan Morrison on guitar, bouzouki, and vocals, and Danny Knicely on mandolin and fiddle. The band is is celebrated for their dynamic musicality. Their repertoire ranges from lively and raucous to poignant and poetic, featuring sublime vocal harmonies that breathe new life into some of the oldest songs ever written.
Over the years, this local quartet—named after the mountain near where the members grew up and first found musical inspiration—has built a reputation for playing old-time music from the American Appalachian traditions alongside energetic, original compositions. And that reputation precedes them!
