About the Class: Let’s paint our own spring umbrellas—yes, you heard that right!
Instructor Paula will guide you step by step in creating a unique, custom-designed umbrella to brighten up rainy spring days. In just three hours, we’ll transform a plain umbrella into a colorful, stylish accessory.
Upon registering, you’ll have the option to choose between a white or black umbrella as your canvas. Weather permitting, we’ll take the creativity outdoors for extra space and inspiration. We’ll be using fabric paint, so wear something you don’t mind getting a little messy. Get ready to make a splash with your own hand-painted masterpiece!
This class is suitable for ages 12 and up, making it the perfect mother-daughter activity for Mother’s Day weekend.
About the Instructor: Paula Roberts, based in Virginia’s scenic Shenandoah Valley, has taken an unconventional path to her artistic journey. With a background spanning management, customer service, software administration, and military service, she always found solace in art. As a self-described “shadow artist,” she turned to doodling, sketching, and painting as a form of meditation and self-expression after long workdays.
After more than two decades away from painting, Paula rekindled her passion, immersing herself in watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media to create journals and unique art pieces. For her, creativity is an ever-evolving process—filled with challenges, experimentation, and discovery. She thrives on pushing artistic boundaries and believes in the magic of collaboration and inspiration.
