This workshop is presented in partnership with the Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardener Association and the Clarke County Library.
About: Are you a gardener looking to improve your skills? Join Master Gardener, Kathy Holcomb, as she discusses the ancient art of seed saving. Although seed saving has been around for over 12,000 years, the practice became less popular with the rise of commercially available seeds, which has led to less resilient and genetically diverse plant life.
Learn about the importance and benefits of seed-saving, as well as how to save your own seeds. The workshop will take a deeper dive into the differences between perennial and annual seed saving, and some of the more popular garden plants, including lettuce, peas, common beans, and tomatoes.
