Sustainability Matters

Luis Lamothe Duribe

Born in Havana, Cuba, Luis Lamothe Duribe is an extraordinary artist who creates images of the land of his birth in whimsical, black-and-white linoleum prints.  Lamothe then prints -- on a small, handpress -- exceedingly small runs of his works, usually printing only 15 copies of the pieces he has spent a month or more carving into used floor linoleum.

Inspired by her Cuban heritage, visual artist Abigail Gómez presents vibrant and expressive "universally accessible" mixed  media paintings in the series Raíces (Roots). Abigail is a teaching artist, arts advocate, and is the owner of Pretty Girl Painting. Artist Statement Ten years ago influenced by the charming illustrations of Calef Brown and animal drawings by outsider artists like Rev. R.A.
