The Millwood Blues Week All-Stars
June 22, 2018 @ 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Mary Flower, hailing from Portland, Oregon, has played the Barns of Rose Hill many times; she is a fingerpicker extraordinaire and great singer with a jazzy blues repertoire. On this visit, she is serving as “first among equals/front-person for the Millwood Blues Week All-Stars, the ‘faculty’ for Millwood Blues Week, now in its 21st year. Joining Mary on guitar is Matt Munisteri from New York City, a jazz and blues player who is a bandleader and arranger who is one of the very best pickers ever to teach at Millwood. Multi-instrumentalist Danny Knicely needs no introduction for local music buffs- from Appalachian to bluegrass to jazz, from mandolin and fiddle to guitar quite simply one of best musicians around these parts. Brian Oberlin is a great jazz and swing mandolinist from Ohio, and rounding out the group is local favorite Ralph Gordon on bass. Expect and eclectic song list and a lot of hot jazz from this group- dancing shoes recommended!
Doors open at 7:00 and concert starts at 8:00 PM
