About the Exhibit
“Inspired By” Quilters have done it again! – A collection of 177 original art quilts depicting the widely-varying landscapes, flora, and fauna of our national parks will be exhibited thruout the Barns. There are three quilts from each of the 59 National Parks – one flora, one fauna, and one landscape. Opening reception on Sunday, October 1st (3 – 5 p.m.), features Madeline McNeil performing “Shenandoah” on dulcimer and talks by Chuck Dunkerly and other NPS members.
The accompanying book containing photos of each quilt and stories from park rangers will also be available for purchase.
All of the quiltmakers will be invited to the opening reception — many of them live in the Northern Virginia area.
Donna provided email addresses when we did the Beatles exhibit.
The former curator of the VA Quilt Museum in Harrisonburg said the NPS Quilt Exhibit was their most-popular exhibit ever. Would be good to publicize as much as possible. Donna lives in Fairfax.
